Fitness Training and Its Components

Fitness Training and Its Components

Author: jimmy tazz

For fitness training, you need to have determination, stamina and ample time to get yourself a well-rounded body! But you also need to develop a comprehensive regime of these five components for a complete training experience:

Aerobic fitness

Known as endurance or cardio activity, it forms the basis of a personal training course for fitness. These exercises cause you to breathe deeply and faster which increases the amount of oxygen in your blood. They include swimming, running, walking and climbing, uphill. Any exercise which lasts for 12 minutes, is generally not classified as fully aerobic as aerobics are exercises you can sustain for some time while your lungs, heart and muscles are overworking.

Aerobic exercises are physical activities that use large muscle groups and increase your heartbeat. Even simple tasks such as leaf raking, vacuuming and snow shoveling can come under aerobics when done for an extended time. Keep an aim for two and a half hours of moderate activity and one and a quarter hour for vigorous aerobic activities.

Strength training

Muscular training is another corner stone for your fitness program. Performing strength training just twice a week can increase muscular fitness and bone strength. There are different approaches to strength training. You can go for weight lifting exercise, body-weight exercises or machines.

Weight lifting exercises include squat, deadlift and overhead press. They are the easiest for increasing strength. Body-weight exercises allow you to use your own weight for enhancing resistance. Examples include pull-ups, push-ups and dips.

Machines do the balancing part for you. However, if you balance them wrong, you can end up injuring yourself.

Core exercises

Muscles in your abdomen are known as core muscles. They connect your torso and lower body parts and help protect your back. They train your muscles to support the spine and enable you to use your lower and upper body muscles more effectively.

Balance training

This should particularly be included by older adults in their routine exercises. With age, balance tends to deteriorate which can lead to fractures and falls. You can try standing on one leg.

Flexibility and stretching

This is an important part of your fitness training regime. Some activities require you to be more flexible such as dancing. Flexibility exercises can allow you to perform certain tasks more easily. You can do stretching exercises to promote a range of motion of your joints and create a better posture. It is also a good stress-buster.
